Curriculum at BLCC
At BLCC, you will begin courses in either the fall (September) or spring (February) semesters.
Elementary Class
Intensive Reading in Chinese, Extensive Reading in Chinese, Chinese Speaking and Listening Comprehension, Writing of Chinese Characters.
Students will master 2,410 common Chinese words and 185 basic Chinese grammar items. Students will carry on simple conversations, reading, and writing in Chinese.
Intermediate Class
Modern Chinese, intermediate Chinese Speaking and Listening Comprehension, Extensive Reading, Commercial Chinese, Chinese Composition, Reading of Selected Newspaper and Magazine Articles.
Students will master 2,850 Chinese words and 80 Chinese grammar items of intermediate level. Students have basic communication abilities and may use Chinese in their routine study and life.
Advanced Class
Modern Chinese, Advanced Chinese Composition, Reading of Selected Newspaper and Magazine Articles, Advanced Cultural Knowledge. Advanced Commercial Chinese, Chinese Grammar.
Students will master about 2,800 Chinese words and about 100 Chinese grammar items of advanced level. Students will have higher communication abilities and a better understanding of Chinese culture.
Specialized courses
Chinese Painting, Chinese calligraphy, Wu Shu (Chinese Martial Arts), Chinese Music and Dance, Chinese Language Computer Programs, HSK classes, etc.
These courses are to learn Chinese culture and understand the spirit of Chinese history.
Tuition Costs
Tuition prices at BLCC are famously very affordable. The price of the standard Chinese programs is 9600 RMB per semester.

Accommodation and Campus Life at BLCC
When you study Chinese at BLCC, you will be located at one of two campuses. Fuchengmen campus is located in central Beijing and Huilongguan campus is located in Changping District of Beijing. There are enough dorms on campus to house students without needing to find off-campus accommodation.
Close to the mountains and the Great Wall, BLCC’s Huilongguan campus may suit students who want a quieter environment to focus on their studies. But students aren’t isolated from Chinese life. BLCC hosts academic and extracurricular activities for students, study tours in Beijing every two weeks, and tours of China every semester.

How to apply to study Chinese at BLCC?
Because they offer non-degree programs for Chinese language students, it is very straightforward to apply for a place at BLCC.
Any non-Chinese national over age 18 who has either graduated from senior high school or has the same educational level, and who is in good health and has a good behavioral record may study at BLCC.
