Sustainability Management School (SUMAS) invites you to join their online masterclass on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 12PM Zurich Time (6PM Beijing Time). The session features a live masterclass followed by an open Q&A with the lecturer.

The centerpiece is a 45-minute masterclass led by Dr. Jan Erik Meidell, Professor at Sustainability Management School. Dr. Meidell will show how to tackle one of Europe’s biggest sustainability challenges, the plan to multiply the continent’s wind capacity by 2040, and how they work out where new wind farms should go and what they will cost.

Knowing how to use data well is becoming a core skill for anyone who wants to work in sustainability. In this masterclass, Dr. Jan Erik Meidell will teach you how to turn a real policy question into a data problem and what machine learning can and cannot answer. He will also explain why the final decision still rests with managers who understand both the numbers and the sustainability stakes. No technical background is required.
