The China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) is a new standardized entrance exam introduced by the China Scholarship Council for international students applying to undergraduate programs in China. Testing Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Chinese language ability, it gives Chinese universities a fair, consistent way to compare applicants from wildly different education systems – and from 2026, it’s already required for Chinese Government Scholarship applicants, becoming mandatory for all international undergraduates by 2028.

The Problem
Currently, preparing for the CSCA exam often requires students to either spend significant time trying to self-study or enrolling in a 6-to-12-month foundation or preparatory year on-campus in China. Many prospective students struggle with self study and are highly reluctant to take a “gap year” and spend a significant amount of money on living costs just for foundation courses.
