Since the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic, proactive adjustments have been made to Peking University BiMBA 2020 admission work, in particular, to ensure prompt reply to applications and inquiries. Here are some commonly asked questions for your reference.
Q1: Will the on-campus exams and interviews be canceled?
A1: No. In the period of epidemic prevention and control, exams and interviews for the MBA2020 will be moved online. Applicants can select test time and submit the application online by the relevant deadline. Delivery of original copies of academic performance to the Admission Office is suspended temporarily, pending further notifications.
Q2: Which MBA: PKU-UCL or PKU-Vlerick?
A2: The BiMBA MBA program of NSD was launched in 1998 and is approved by the Diploma Office of the State Council. Unveiled in 2008, the PKU-Vlerick program offers international MBA courses with English as the teaching language. The PKU-UCL program was established in 2016, thanks to a joint declaration by PKU and UCL. The two programs each have unique advantages and candidates are advised to choose the one that best fits him/her.
University College London (UCL) is in the same league as Cambridge University and Oxford University and represents the best research prowess and teaching quality of the UK. It was ranked No.8 by QS 2020 and No.14 by The Thames in 2019. The PKU-UCL program offers both full-time and part-time MBA classes.
Located in Belgium and founded in 1953, Vlerick Business School is a leading European management school. It’s among a limited number of business schools worldwide to be certified by three major accreditation bodies: EQUIS, AMBA, and AACSB, a testament to its pursuit of high quality in management education and research. According to QS, Vlerick MBA graduates lead in pay rise at graduation. Financial Times ranked it No.15 of all European MBA programs. The PKU-Vlerick program offers part-time classes.
Q3: After taking the exams and interviews, when will the admission results be announced?
Q3: The PKU-Vlerick program announces results around two weeks after exams and interviews. Candidates shall be informed by phone or email.
The PKU-UCL program announces five to six weeks after exams and interviews. Candidates shall be informed by email.
Q4: When will the next round of campus exams and interviews be held?
Q4: The BiMBA MBA programs are based on the first-apply-first-admit principle. The second round of application for exams has finished, while the third round is now open for registration for the first exam (there are several exams in a round), with the deadline for online application submission on March 8th and the corresponding exams and interviews scheduled on March 21st.
Q5: Will the delay of GRE/GMAT tests affect my application?
Q6: Candidates can opt for PKU-UCL and PKU-Vlerick campus exams in lieu of GRE/GMAT tests.

PKU-UCL MBA:
Option 1: GMAT/GRE + IELTS/TOEFL;
Option 2: PKU-UCL on-campus exams + IELTS/TOEFL;
PKU-Vlerick MBA:
Option 1: GMAT/GRE + English language test (TOEFL, IELTS, CET-6, or TEM-8, etc.)
Option 2: PKU-Vlerick on-campus exams.
Q6: Will the delay of IELTS/TOEFL tests affect my application?
A6: Applicants for the PKU-Vlerick MBA program can substitute our campus exams for IELTS/TOEFL tests.
Applicants for the PKU-UCL MBA program are required to submit IELTS/TOEFL test scores:
Due to the virus, the deadline for submitting IELTS/TOEFL test scores is postponed to July 31st, 2020.
Applicants are advised to participate in campus exams and interviews first, and submit IELTS/TOEFL test scores at a later date. We recommend taking an IELTS or TOEFL test no later than July 15th.
Q7: What’s the progress concerning the awarding of scholarships for 2020 students?
Q7: In line with the philosophy and spirit of the NSD, more types of scholarships are created this year to encourage applications from more industries and regions. Up to 70% of full-time students and 30% of part-time students will benefit from scholarships.
Evaluation of candidates is in progress and some scholarships are still available. Early applicants will enjoy certain advantages. When applying online, don’t forget to tick the scholarship option.
Q8: What are the upcoming admission events?
A8: All admission work has been shifted online due to the epidemic. Two upcoming events are noteworthy:
Online info session on Saturday, February 29: Prof. John Yang of the NSD will speak on the five-force leadership in the new era, followed by an info session for MBA 2020.
