How to Apply to Jiangsu University? – All You Need To Know

Jiangsu University is ranked among the top 100 universities out of over 2,000 higher educational institutions in China. Currently, JSU is a teaching, research and community-oriented comprehensive institution with emphasis on engineering and allied disciplines. Four disciplines have been ranked as the global top 1% in ESI, such as Engineering, Materials Science, Clinical Medicine and Chemistry. According to the Evaluations of China’s Universities in 2015 by China Academy of Management Science, JSU is ranked 55.

Jiangsu University accepts many international students every year from all around the world and they have clear and definite requirements for each student.

Basic Eligibility for application for all international applicants:

* In good health condition, in accordance with the Health Standard for International Students stipulated by the Ministry of Education, China.

* Good moral character and discipline towards the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the university.
* Good English or Chinese language proficiency.

* Certificate from highest education attained.

Bachelor’s Degree Entry Requirement:

Academic Requirement:  High School Degree
Score Requirement: Above 70% or B or equivalent

English Requirement: IELTS: 6; TOEFL: 70 or other equivalents

Master’s Degree Entry Requirement:

Academic Requirement:  Bachelor’s degree
Score Requirement: Above 70% or B or equivalent

English Requirement: English medium: IELTS: 6; TOEFL: 70 or other equivalents

Ph.D. Degree Entry Requirement:

Academic Requirement:  Master degree
Score Requirement: Above 70% or B or equivalent

English Requirement: English medium: IELTS: 6; TOEFL: 70 or other equivalents

 

Application Materials:
  1. Start your application HERE
  2. A passport photo with a white background
  3. Copy of passport (the full info page)
  4. Copy of your highest achieved degree transcript (Notarized English translation)
  5. Copy of your highest achieved degree certificate (Notarized English translation)
  6. English language proficiency certificate (non-English speaking countries)
  7. Family financial statement (Please upload the bank certificate/statement of deposit in recent 6 months with an official seal, to show that you have enough balance to cover your costs during the study. The name on the certificate should be matched with your financial supporter)
  8. CV or Curriculum Vitae (must be complete & continuous until the current year, including work and education, CV) should be continuous until the present. If you had graduated from your last school long ago, please write down what you did after that.
  9. Work experience certificate – if you worked or provide related certificates if you accepted any training.
  10. No Criminal Certificate – If you do not have any supporting documents for work experience, please provide a “No Criminal Certificate” from your police station mentioning that you do not have any criminal record.
  11. Research proposal (For Master’s and Ph.D. only)– which tells what are you going to do in the future study. Please don’t just upload an old paper or publication, which will lead to a direct reject. The research plan is important because the academic committee or supervisor will judge whether your research interests meet or not and make the decision.
  12. 2 recommendation letters (For Master’s and Ph.D. only) -Two recommendation letters must be printed on university official papers, signed and sealed by the professors or associate professors only. The letters must include the title and contacts of the recommenders.
