I Have Submitted My Application to China Admissions, NOW WHAT?

Welcome onboard to China Admissions! We are here to help you with all your processes to study in China.

Before submitting your application, you will need to first choose the Chinese university of your interest and the program to pursue. You can find a complete database of all English-language programs in China, their tuition, eligibility requirements, and deadlines here.

After you make your decision regarding the university and the program, you will need to fill out China Admissions online application form, provide the relevant documents needed for admissions and pay the application fee required by the university. So, after you have submitted your application…NOW WHAT?

Step 1

Our enrollment team of China Admissions will review your application and contact you with feedback on your application. The enrollment team will make sure that your application information and documents meet the university requirements. For instance, we will email you if you are missing some relevant documents or information (Please note that different universities have different requirements).

Step 2

After making sure that we have all the required documents and information to meet the university requirements, we will submit your application directly to the university when the university’s own application period opens. Read more about how soon we will submit your application here.

Step 3

The university processing time, depending on the university, takes about 3-4 weeks (see a list of fastest universities here). After processing and reviewing your application, the university will make its decision regarding your acceptance.

Step 4

Congratulations! You are accepted! After your acceptance, we will send your admission notice directly to your personal email. Please note that most universities in China ask for the deposit payment to secure your seat and to apply for your visa form (JW202 form).

Due to Covid-19 and China’s restrictions, you may not be able to complete steps 5-7 and enter China right away. But you will still be able to take classes virtually regardless. Check the latest Covid updates here.

Step 5

After your deposit payment to the university account, the university will apply for your JW202 form to the Exit-Entry Bureau of the city. It will take about 3-4 weeks to process the JW202 form. Once the processing is finished, the university will send JW202 form to your address (Please make sure the address of residence provided on your China Admissions application is valid).

Step 6

After you receive the JW202 form and admission package from the university, you will need to apply for a student visa (X1 visa). In order to do so, you must take the following documents to the Embassy or Consulate of the People’s Republic of China in your home country. The required documents are a personal passport, Admission Notice, Visa Application Form (JW202/JW201), and original Form of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners (as well as other original documents of physical examination).

Step 7

You have already received your visa, so you are ready for your journey to China! Please note that students must enter China with an ordinary passport and X1 visa and must apply for a Residence Permit within 30 days after arrival in China. Welcome to China!
