The Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) launched new a new scholarship for the 2022 intake. Founded in the historic western city of Xi’an, NPU is the only multidisciplinary and research-oriented university in China that also focuses on developing research-based education programs in various fields such as aeronautics and marine engineering.
The new scholarships are designed to help international students from diverse national and economic backgrounds be able to successfully achieve their study goals at NPU.
The NPU Presidential Scholarship
Offered by The Northwestern Polytechnical University, the Presidential Scholarship has three tiers.

Students who enroll in and successfully complete the NPU English Foundation Program, deadline Feb 1, 2022, will have a greater chance to be selected for the Presidential Scholarship. NPU anticipates having a very high number of English Foundation Program graduate students receive this scholarship for 2022! The CSC Scholarship
The Chinese Government Scholarship is offered by the Chinese government and is available for students to apply for independently.
It is a Type A scholarship. Here is what the scholarship provides:
- 100% Tuition and Dormitory fees
- Travel Insurance
- Monthly stipend of 2,500 RMB

The Belt and Road Scholarship
Offered by the Xi’an government, this scholarship is exclusively available for students from BRI countries. Check if your country is in the BRI here. There are 66 countries from across Asia, Africa, Central and East Europe.
The scholarship has three tiers:

Apply for the NPU English Foundation Program
NPU’s English Foundation Program is a NEW course this year.
The application deadline for NPU’s English Foundation Program is February 1, 2022.
The course runs from March 2022-August 2022, and students will have the opportunity to apply and attend NPU undergraduate programs after the completion of the Foundation Program. Students will also have the chance to receive the Presidential Scholarship for their undergraduate study!
