Introduction to the Program

Our Chinese language summer programmes last between 4 and 8 weeks, and combine core language skills alongside the opportunity to experience Chinese culture and to learn more about the world of work in China.

About the Program

Our Junior Chinese programme is tailored specifically for our 16 and 17 year old students. Based exclusively at Nankai University in Tianjin, this programme gives students the opportunity to study Chinese on the campus of a leading university. Housed in first-class accommodation and with a dedicated student support team on hand at all times, students will be able to fully immerse themselves in Chinese culture and make the most of their China experience. With a range of social activities students will have ample opportunity to use their newly acquired language skills.

What will I study?

The Chinese language summer programme allows you to experience Chinese life through a range of social and cultural activities in addition to more than 50 hours of the following core modules:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Speaking
  • Listening

As well as your core modules you will also have the opportunity to participate in a number of activities, which could include:

  • Cultural studies – exploring aspects of local, regional or national life through visits to places of interest and cultural activities
  • Writing workshops – focusing on functional writing skills and practising calligraphy
  • Chinese paper cutting – learn how to master the art of crafting paper into pieces of art
  • Cooking classes – our student mentors will help you learn how to cook traditional Chinese food

Entry Requirements

  • No Academic Entry requirements
  • Suitable for students from beginner to intermediate levels
  • 16 – 17 years old

Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible, at least one month prior to start date.

Tuition Fees

Twin Room: RMB24698 per four weeks. Costs include meals and excursions.

During your studies you will live in the overseas student dormitories.
