Wuhan city is the capital of Hubei province in Southeast China. It is one of the most populous cities in the country with more than 19 million residents. Wuhan was founded in 1927 from the unification of three towns, Wuchang, Hankou, and Hanyang. Wuhan’s climate is temperate. It has cold winters and hot, rainy summers.

With its strategic location at the cofluence of the Yangtze Delta and Han rivers, the city has become a center of transportation playing an important role in the delivery of goods in and out of China. Mei and Cherry Blossoms fill the East Lake in springtime which is a sight to behold. The Hubei Provincial Museum is one of the most renowned museums in China with more than 200,000 artifacts. The tomb of Marquis Yi located in Wuhan is a world treasure and the Yellow Crane Tower is probably Wuhan’s most popular landmark.

Although Wuhan has a millennia-old history, it is also a modern megacity. Wuhan has the most advanced railway systems and highways, bullet trains and express buses which makes it a very accessible city to study and live in. It has huge shopping centers with a mix of economical and international brands. Social life in Wuhan is colorful and the majority of people are health-focused. Wuhan has western influence so international students will fit in well in the city. They will benefit from a lower cost of living and a more laid back life.
