What does it include?
1) – You’ll be put into a group with 5-9 other students according to your level – there are 11 levels ranging from beginner to HSK 1 – 5
2) – It’s taught in modular format, of each 12 weeks. You can sign up for 12 weeks, 6 months, 1 year, or 2 years. Each module is half an HSK level. So after 8 part time modules you will go from 0 to HSK 4.
3) – The mode of teaching is part time, “a little study everyday, goes a long way”. By doing a little bit over time you can see fast gains in your Chinese. The teacher is your coach, and you’ll also have classmates you can work with and to help inspire you – it makes learning fun, so you can just relax and follow the classes!

BLCU Online Chinese HSK Classes
The online HSK course includes the following:
- 1 on 1 placement test, live online with the BLCU teacher
- A weekly live class, learning material, homework.
- A final test
- WeChat group discussion
- Question-answering under the guidance of BLCU teachers after class
- Certificate from BLCU
- Each module (12 weeks) will progress through half an HSK level.
Every class is 50 minutes long. You will have 1 live class per week, and have exercises to complete with the guidance from the teacher. The total study hours would be 3-5 hours per week.
Once you complete the program, you will be given a certificate and transcript from BLCU which is recognised internationally.
The Online classes are taught according to the following levels.
You can start from beginner, or if you have learnt Chinese before you can start later. Each module (12 weeks) will cover one of the following levels.
- Beginners (zero basis)
- Students who have mastered 130 words (HSK1)
- Students who have mastered 260 words (HSK1+)
- Students who have mastered 380 words (HSK2)
- Students who have mastered 510 words (HSK2+)
- Students who have mastered 600 words (HSK3)
- Students who have mastered 850 words (HSK3+)
- Students who have mastered 1350 words (HSK4)
- HSK 4+

Frequently Asked Questions
When does the next course start?
After you have completed your registration, you will book a 1 on 1 assessment with the teacher to work out your Chinese level so you can be placed in the suitable class. Each course and level starts when there are 5 students, this is usually within 2 weeks. You will be given some work and start working with the teacher while you are waiting for the class to begin.
Which time zone will I be?
Because there are lots of students taking this course, you will. be able to choose which time zone you prefer and then put in the suitable class. You can choose your preferred time zone and level and book a placement test with the teacher here.
