About the Speakers

Dr. Anthony LIU
Associate Professor/Program Director of Accounting

United International College

Dr. Anthony A. LIU earned his PhD degree in Business Administration (Accounting) at SYSU in 2007. He has published more than 60 academic papers in core and key journals in Chinese and English. He has secured more than 10 research grants from Ministerial and provincial levels. He was a visiting teacher at Harvard Business School, attending the PCL international teacher training courses, visiting scholar of Freeman Foundation at the University of Illinois at Urbana and Champaign, visiting scholar at the French Academy of Social Sciences and other well-known universities and research institutions. He used to act as an independent auditor of UN Systems and Programmes. He won support from the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants and stayed at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland as an academic observer on accounting standards-setting institutions. He had taught in different national key universities the core undergraduate and postgraduate courses in accounting and business administration. He also has rich experience in executing training.

Dr. Zemin LU
Associate Professor of Applied Economics

United International College

Dr. Zemin LU is currently an associate professor in the Division of Business & Management of UIC. He obtained his Ph.D. from Tulane University in 1998, and then held academic appointments for a number of years, first in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and then in the University of Hong Kong, before he joined UIC. He is a dedicated teacher, with a wide range of teaching expertise in Accounting, Economics, and Finance. In research, he focuses on some frontier theoretical problems in the interdisciplinary field of Accounting and Economics and has had papers published/presented in high-reputation international journals/conferences.

About UIC Division of Business and Management

The Division of Business and Management (DBM, the Division) is the largest division at the Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC). It offers an integrated business education that embraces up-to-date international curricula; the adoption of interactive teaching and learning methodologies; and the application of academic knowledge to professional contexts.

Currently, DBM offers seven BBA (Hons) Programmes; namely, Accounting, Finance, Applied Economics, Management of Human Resources, Marketing Management, E-Business Management and Information Systems, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, as well as one taught master’s program titled Master of Arts in Communication-Media Management Concentration (MMGT). It also nurtures MPhil and Ph.D. students jointly with the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU).
