About the Guest Speaker

Itxaso del Palacio
Teaching Fellow in Entrepreneurship, UCL
Partner, Notion Capital
Itxaso del Palacio is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Entrepreneurship at UCL. She is responsible for the Entrepreneurial Finance course module and she also supervises dissertations of the MSc Entrepreneurship. Prior to UCL, Itxaso led the Entrepreneurial Finance activities at the Imperial College Business School.
Itxaso is also a Partner at Notion Capital in London which is one of the leading B2B SaaS investors in Europe. She is investing in software companies with disruptive technologies in AI and ML, big data and analytics, Business SaaS, Cloud Infrastructure, productivity and communications, and security among others. Some of the portfolio companies include GoCardless (unicorn), CurrencyCloud (sold to VISA), Tradeshift (unicorn) and Yulife (led by Itxaso and valued at over $350m). Prior to that, Itxaso launched the corporate venture capital arm of M12 (Microsoft’s venture arm) in Europe. As a Partner in M12, Itxaso led investments in companies like Onfido (unicorn), Unbabel and Beamery. 

For more than 15 years, Itxaso has worked with startups in London, Silicon Valley, Spain and Latin America. She holds a prestigious Kauffman Fellowship and is very well connected to the global network of fellow investors. Itxaso is an engineer by background and holds a Ph.D. in entrepreneurship.
