About the Speaker

Dirk Buyens

Professor of Peking University-Vlerick MBA Program

Professor Dr. Dirk Buyens is the Academic Dean and Partner of Vlerick Business School. He is also Chairperson of the HR Centre at Vlerick Business School. He obtained his Ph.D. in Industrial and Organisational Psychology at Ghent University and holds an MBA degree from KU Leuven. He was a doctoral-fellow at the IR Centre of the Graduate School of Management at the University of Minnesota (USA). Dirk’s main research and teaching interest lie in Human Resources Management.

About Beijing International MBA (BiMBA) at Peking University

BiMBA at Peking University, established in 1998 by Prof. Justin Yifu Lin (former Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of the World Bank) and his colleagues, is the first Sino-foreign MBA program in Beijing approved by the Chinese government. It is a joint educational venture between the National School of Development (NSD) at Peking University and its global partners. BiMBA now operates two joint MBA programs: PKU-UCL MBA and PKU-Vlerick MBA.

Today, BiMBA has two available MBA programs, the PKU – UCL MBA Programme and PKU – Vlerick MBA Programme.

The PKU BiMBA is located in Peking University’s beautiful former royal garden, Langrun Garden
