We’re hiring Head of Product at China Admissions

Seeking entrepreneurial Head of Product to join our team to take our platform to the next level

We are China Admissions, an investor backed online platform for international students to apply to Chinese Universities. We partner with 90 top Chinese universities, and have over 100,000 registered students.

We are growing fast and looking for a Head of Product to join our team to take our product through this exciting stage as we reach the next level.

Your Objectives

In the first 6 months you will have the following objectives.

1> ? Rebuild the application system to make it a world class user experience

The standard application process to universities sucks! We are building a world class, simple, fun to fill out, with a minimum number of steps, and an awesome experience (a target of a 60 net promoter score). Students should find all the information they need on our platform to make a decision, and to apply without the need to contact anyone. We have all the requirements and match students so it is impossible for students to apply on our platform and be rejected by the university. Its all there and it just works!

This is a cross functional requiring to work with recruitment, admissions, universities and tech teams. It would involve going deep into the student experience, learning from students, and understanding the universities, leading, managing and hiring the development team.

2> ? Scale our platform from 60,000 to 120,000 unique visits per month

We need to be there right when students need it. This can be achieved, by adding more content, upgrading SEO (particularly on our blog), setting up an email re-engagement process and social media retargeting ads to bring students back to us more regularly. Creating an outbound strategy to target our ideal students, launching marketing campaigns to attract more visitors, and upgrading parts of the website as needed.

Working environment

We need someone with a native level of English. international mindset is a must. It is important that you can deeply understand the users, and have great people skills. Studying abroad, and Chinese language are an advantage but not necessary. We are a startup and so prefer our team to be full stack, who are able to code, hire, recruit, manage, understand UX deeply and drive sales and growth. This enables us to move fast and achieve our ambitious targets. Stack is Django and WordPress, PostgreSQL and MySQL, AWS and shared hosting. Supporting stack involves Ansible, Gitlab CI, Docker.

We highly value the ability to learn, being open minded, caring about others, service, and a get stuff done attitude. We expect you’ll have a strong track record of developing high quality products before, high standards of excellence and entrepreneurial tendency.
