As an international student at BNBU, there are always a variety of clubs, classes, activities and trips to suit different interests. Here are some examples of what you can enjoy.

Field Trips
In recent years, BNBU has taken students to Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhongshan, Shantou, Foshan, Shanghai and Beijing. The purpose of these field trips is to gain first-hand experience of these cities.
- Zhuhai: One Day Trip
- Zhongshan: Sun Yet-set Museum and Sanxiang clothes and shoes factory outlets visit
- Two Days Weekend Trips: Over night stay in city within Guangdong Province. For example: Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, and Shantou.
- Approximately One Week Trips to Cities all Around China.
Past Events
Halloween Party
BNBU’s International Development Office (IDO) and International Student Club organized a vibrant Halloween party at the International Common Room, bringing together international students and their friends for a night of festive celebrations. The event featured costumes, games, and an abundance of candies from both Chinese and Western traditions. The students participated in activities such as a sour candy eating competition and a costume contest, showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm. It was a memorable experience for many, including those who celebrated Halloween for the first time. The party provided a fun-filled break from studying, allowing students to connect with one another and create lasting memories.
Winter Holiday Celebration
The International Development Office (IDO) at BNBU organized a post-finals holiday celebration on December 28 for international students, their friends, and other BNBU departments that support their study abroad experiences. The event served as a festive gathering to celebrate the holiday season and the completion of final exams.
IDO provided an assortment of food and snacks, accompanied by cheerful Christmas decorations and holiday music. One of the highlights of the evening was a classic “White Elephant” Christmas gift exchange game, adding an element of fun and surprise. The party also offered an opportunity for international students who were completing their studies at BNBU to bid farewell and reflect on their experiences. The event was attended by BNBU faculty members, foreign interns, and representatives from various BNBU departments, demonstrating the support and appreciation for international students.
Visit to Zhuhai’s New Summer Palace
The International Student Club embarked on a visit to Zhuhai’s New Summer Palace for a glimpse into royal life in Southern China. The palace, a reconstruction of the Qing Dynasty’s original masterpiece features replica buildings adorned with colorful paintwork, set amidst maintained gardens with a backdrop of surrounding mountains. The excursion included cultural performances featuring traditional songs and dances. To add to the fun, the palace complex offered modern attractions such as a small amusement park, where students engaged in activities like target shooting and exploring a haunted house. This experience fostered connections among international students, their roommates, and Chinese students, many of whom had also pursued studies abroad.
Multicultural Easter Feast
International students at BNBU came together to celebrate Easter with a potluck meal, where they spent the afternoon cooking and sharing a variety of foods at BNBU’s food labs. Rather than focusing solely on Easter foods, students were encouraged to share meals and traditions from their own countries, giving the event a truly international flavour. Students cooked dishes from their own countries, such as:
- American-style Blueberry pancakes
- French crepes filled with chocolate hazelnut spread
- Thai style noodles with spicy pepper sauce
- Traditional Venezuelan Arepas
- Korean kimchi fried rice and beef bulgogi
The event not only offered a taste of home for international students but also fostered cultural and social exchange among participants. The culinary exchange allowed them to experience new flavours and bond over food. By celebrating holidays together, BNBU aims to create lasting connections between international and Chinese students, making them feel like one big family.
