FAQ: How Early Should You Apply for 2026 Intake?

Are you looking to begin a program at a Chinese university in spring 2026 or fall 2026? How early should you apply for 2026 intake?

It is still 2025, so it might seem too early to begin the process…but actually we recommend applying as early as possible for your dream 2026 program!

Is it worth it to apply to China in 2026?

There are a few reasons why it is still worth it to apply to Chinese universities in 2026:

  1. Chinese universities top the rankings in Asia, and are well-known and respected globally
  2. World-class education at affordable costs compared to Europe/Canada/USA
  3. Thousands of scholarships available to all students
  4. Learn Chinese and experience Chinese culture
  5. Greater chance of border reopening
  6. You can always withdraw your application later if you change your mind

The border situation and the costs of returning to China are the biggest reasons why students are hesitating right now. We encourage you to fully research your options to study in China but also keep an open mind to other destinations.

How Early Should You Apply For 2026 Intake in China?

We recommend beginning as early as possible by checking your deadlines on our database here. It takes students an average of 10 days to complete their application on our platform.

You may also need to collect many other forms such as: health check, non-criminal record, IELTS/TOEFL score, letters of recommendation…These can take a month or longer to prepare.

We advise you to check the deadlines for 2026 intake right away, and plan how long it will take you to arrange all the relevant documents.

Early Applicants Also Get Priority for Scholarships

Many Chinese universities offer scholarships for full or partial tuition to students with excellent grades and extracurriculars. But the scholarships have limited spots. Students who apply early get first priority for these important scholarships.

You should apply early if you want a scholarship. This is the #1 way to easily increase your chances of getting a scholarship.
