Great news to international students! East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) has just opened its 2025 scholarship and bursary applications for international students entering the Joint Multi-Degree (JMD) Programmes.
These scholarships are designed to support highly qualified and talented students—covering tuition, housing, living costs, and more.
The application deadline is June 15, 2025, and international students can apply through China Admissions for fast-track processing and full support.
What Does the Scholarship Cover?
ECUST offers generous scholarships to support highly qualified and talented students who have been successfully admitted to the JMD programme. Please note that this scholarship applies to the first academic year only and will not be automatically renewed for the second or third year. Students will need to reapply or apply for other available scholarships in future academic years.

JMD First-Class Scholarship
- Full refund of first academic year tuition fees
- Full waiver of on-campus dorm fees
- Monthly living stipend of 2,500 RMB/month
- Comprehensive medical insurance
JMD Second-Class Scholarship
- 20,000 RMB tuition refund
- Full dormitory waiver
- Living stipend (2,500 RMB/month)
- Medical insurance
Financial Bursaries (Need-Based)
- Full or partial dorm fee waivers
- Early bird dorm fee waiver (2 months)

About the JMD Programme
The Joint Multi-Degree Program (JMD) at ECUST allows you to:
- Start your studies in Shanghai
- Transfer in your final year to a partner university in the UK or Australia
- Graduate with two bachelor degrees in just 3 years—one from ECUST and one from the overseas institution
You can choose between:
- JMD Essential Plan (3 years in Shanghai, 1 degree)
- JMD Elite Plan (2 years in Shanghai, final year in UK/AUS, 2 degrees)
