🆕 China Admissions – China Readiness Program
Introduction
If you are planning to study in China, you will likely experience a sharp leaving curve and overcome a number of challenges – how do things work in China? How do you use and navigate apps, network and find opportunities, what can and can’t be done? What are the pathways to success? We’ve seen the same pattern from students each year and we went through this period ourselves.
In order to help you prepare and accelerate your arrival to maximise your chance of succeeding in China, and to give you an advantage, we’ve seen the need for more practical training and guide.
About The Program
In this online program we will go through the key topics you need to learn in live classes, with experts, and a community of other students, experts, and teachers, and give you a number of resources, guidebooks, workbooks, links.
At the end you will receive a certificate of completion.
Curriculum
Format: Webinar & Booklet Combination
Each session runs 1.5–2 hours, including live Q&A.
Session 1: Understanding ChinaÂ
Get the big picture before you arrive. We’ll walk you through how Chinese universities and workplaces actually operate, the social media and app ecosystem you’ll be living in, everyday safety, weather and regional differences, and the cultural concepts that shape daily life – so nothing catches you off guard.
Session 2: Academic Success & Student Life Â
Learn directly from students and educators who’ve done it. This session covers how to write essays and assignments the way Chinese professors expect, how to navigate classroom dynamics and communicate well, and how to make real friends. We’ll also cover the things nobody warns you about — homesickness, insurance, mental health support, and budgeting for cost of living — plus practical checklists and useful contacts to keep on hand.
Session 3: Career & Social Success in ChinaÂ
Insight from those who’ve built real careers and opportunities in China. We’ll cover which companies are hiring, how to start a company, and the unspoken rules that matter more than any textbook — face, harmony, and how relationships actually get built. You’ll learn how to use WeChat groups, LinkedIn, and social platforms to open doors, plus the gift-giving etiquette that can make or break a first impression.
Session 4: Setting Up SuccessfullyÂ
Your complete Day 1 survival guide. From landing at the airport to your first weeks settled in, we cover transport, trains and flights, housing, health insurance, and the essential apps (Baidu Maps and beyond). We’ll walk you through police registration, visas, what to do if you lose your passport, embassy contacts, and how to actually read a Chinese address – everything you need to hit the ground running.
Session 5: Learning Chinese
Learn how to learn – efficiently. We’ll cover the tools that actually work (Anki, comprehensible input, AI-assisted study, the best apps and books), how to approach characters, tones, and chengyu, and the survival Mandarin phrases you’ll need from day one with introductory Chinese and discounts on further online classes if you wish to have more.
