Shandong University carries a reputation for providing an excellent environment for international and Chinese students alike. What do students have to say about studying at Shandong University?

“Our dorms are incredibly clean and tidy, and all the cleaning ladies warmly greet us each day. We all have really good gym facilities. There, students can play badminton, volleyball, and aerobics.

I think coming to China to study, besides learning the language, you can really experience the culture. Shandong is the home of Confucius, so the culture and atmosphere here are really beneficial to studying the Chinese language and culture. The professors at Shandong University are also really kind and friendly. Students who study here can really receive a lot of guidance from their professors. The students here are also super amiable too. You can definitely make a lot of Chinese friends!”

— SDU student Yu Lejie, from Yantai, China

“Shandong University is one of the best universities in China. It has a very long history. In the past few years, Shandong University has soared through the ranking and become more important internationally and nationally.

What type of students are a good fit for Shandong? Students who don’t only have high grades, but have something else to show–like awards they have won, or have good voluntary work in the community. I had a choice between SDU and multiple universities. In the end, I chose Shandong University because I spoke to multiple staff members and they were very friendly to me. That made a big difference to me because I don’t only care about the education itself, but also about the atmosphere.”

I really enjoyed the time that I had here. Discussing with professors, and especially exchanging ideas with Chinese students, that was definitely a plus.”

— SDU student Daryl Reeve, from the UK
