Scholarship for International Applicants

Hong Kong Metropolitan University aims to provide students with quality professional education and clear career paths, regardless of their financial background, by offering assistance to those who show exceptional academic achievement and potential. Students who receive a scholarship can expect to have their tuition fees reduced, allowing them to focus on their studies and other pursuits without having to worry about the financial burden of paying for their education. There are three kinds of scholarship:

a) Top Award of HK$240,000
b) Second Award of HK$120,000
c) Third Award of HK$60,000

Getting a scholarship at HKMU can be competitive, as there are usually more applicants than available scholarship awards. 

To increase your chances of being awarded the Scholarship for International Applicants, you should strive to meet or exceed the eligibility requirements, such as academic achievement, community involvement, leadership experience, or other relevant criteria. 

You should also apply as early as you can. Provide all the necessary documents and information and take the time to craft a strong and persuasive application.

Initially established in 1989 by the Hong Kong SAR Government as the Open Learning Institute of Hong Kong, HKMU changed its name in 2021 to accurately reflect its close ties with the wider community, with a clear focus on serving the practical and social needs of Hong Kong and the region in its teaching and research.
