About the Program

We offer a broad range of research skills that are tailored to the needs of the individual student who may be undertaking study in (but not limited to) communications studies, media studies, journalism studies, digital arts, cultural studies, or film studies. These include time and project management, writing and communication skills, research methodologies, methods and ethics.

We also support interdisciplinary research that draws upon a variety of fields of expertise within the Humanities cluster, including research into China Studies, Linguistics, and Public Health. As part of our programme of professional development, we offer PhD students the opportunity to shadow a member of staff for one semester in order to develop their teaching skills, as well as opportunities to provide teaching assistance. You will join an exciting and dynamic research community that facilitates leading-edge research opportunities.
