Bachelor’s in Science
Introduction to the Program
Bachelor’s in Science is a four-year programme taught in English for international students. Nurturing future scientists is the faculty’s main mission. As barriers among science disciplines have blurred and major scientific advancements rely increasingly on syntheses of ideas from different disciplines, the traditional educational approach that compartmentalizes science into separate disciplines is no longer appropriate. Scientists also have to reckon with the potential social implications of their work. This requires science students to have an appreciation of the role of science in complex societal issues as well as a good background of scientific knowledge.
The science curriculum at HKU is designed to achieve the following educational aims:
- The pursuit of academic/professional excellence, critical intellectual inquiry, and lifelong learning
- Tackling novel situations and ill-defined problems
- Critical self-reflection and greater understanding of others
- Intercultural communication, multicultural understanding, and global citizenship
- Communication and collaboration
- Leadership and advocacy for the improvement of the human condition

Tuition Fees
The tuition fees are 130,000 RMB per year. The total fee for the four-year program is 520,000 RMB.
