Introduction to the Program

The Bachelor’s in Resource Prospecting Engineering at China University of Petroleum – East China (UPC) is a four year program for international students taught in English.

About the Program

This program will enable students to know about basic theory and skill of modern oil gas geological science and students can be trained as geological engineers. After graduating, students can work in the field of oil gas resource prospecting and other relative fields for engineering design, and management.

The annual intake of this program is in September.

  • Under the age of 25
  • High school degree
  • TOEFL iBT 60 or above/IELTS 5.0 or above/certificate of English as the instruction language during previous studies

Oral Chinese, Advanced Mathematics, Chinese Intensive Reading, A Survey of China, Geological Resource and geological Engineering, Oil Gas Geology and Prospecting, Sedimentlogy, Subsurface Geology of Oil and Gas Field. Architectonic Geology, Theory and Explanation of Seismic Prospecting.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fees are RMB 18000 per year. The total for the 4 year program is 72,000 RMB.


There are fourteen floors in UPC International Students’ Apartment. En suite double-rooms and single rooms are available for students furnished with hot-water shower, air conditioner, electric fan, desk and so on. For more information visit the accommodation page here.
